CWA/DE State Civilian Employees Bargaining Report #4

The CWA bargaining committee met the DSP bargaining committee in an effort to get a fair contract during this last week of the current CBA. The two parties are far apart on some critical issues but were able to agree on some minor proposals. There were tentative agreements reached on some minor issues regarding the grievance procedure, maternity/paternity leave and education leave among others. The critical issue of economics is still absent from the state proposals and we are waiting for them to finalize this and other proposals critical to reaching an agreement. The need for a fair contract is understood by most of the DSP committee but there are still challenges to be overcome before we can get there. The CWA committee is committed to work around the clock to bring back a contract that the members deserve, and we have said this at the table. The bargaining team discussed the mobilization of the membership and those details will be provided. SOLIDARITY IS STRENGTH, WORK SAFE AND STAY UNITED.
