Verizon Bargaining 2011: Report # 40
The Regional Bargaining Committee continued working today on moving forward with our members' jobs agenda in bargaining. We had a productive day in formulating more detailed proposals on returning bargaining unit work to our members. The proposal includes eliminating the contracting out of our bargaining unit work. Included in our jobs proposal is the demand for bringing work we do not currently perform into the bargaining unit.
The Mid Atlantic Bargaining team on behalf of all members in the Mid Atlantic region sends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of CWA Local 1109 member Doug Lalima who died in an on the job accident. While working aloft, Doug came into contact with an electrical line, and was electrocuted. A fifteen-year veteran at Verizon, Brother Lalima leaves behind a wife and four daughters. We are asking everyone to keep the Lalima family in your thoughts and prayers.
