Verizon Local 13000 Bargaining Report # 5
Today your Local Bargaining Team met with the company and it started off with the union asking a variety of questions to get further clarification on some of the information provided by the company, including contractors and title flexibility. We then put across 6 new proposals all designed to improve the lives of our members and your families on a day to day basis. These proposals addressed forced OT issues, pay allowance for absence time, reimbursement for incidental expenses, increased vacation time, and increased holidays. We are continuing to work on additional proposals as well as working on the company demands in preparation to make counter offers.
The Union has already taken a hard stance when we outright rejected a company proposal that would have destroyed the integrity of our contract and our titles. We will continue to fight to maintain and improve our contract, improve working conditions at work and the time we spend with our families.
Your Bargaining Team in committed to see this fight to the end and we are hearing of ongoing job actions and it is making a difference at the table. Continue and expand on job actions to let Verizon know “its our turn” for better working conditions.
Stand Strong and Stand United
