Comcast South Hills 2026 Bargaining: Report #1

The CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Committee reported:
The Union Bargaining Committee met with the Company several times over four days last week, Tuesday October 13 through Friday October 16, 2026, in Carnegie, PA. Bargaining kicked off with a series of productive discussions related to items that you have identified as important to yourselves and your coworkers. Also last week, we introduced several proposals to the company. They include proposals to limit the use of contract labor, ensure that proper training is given to all, safety, and others. The company also passed proposals last week. They look to expand their right to force you into higher amounts of mandatory overtime among the givebacks they are seeking in this round of bargaining.
Things took a turn when the conversation turned to economics, especially discussions about wages. The company committee has several new faces on its side of the table this year, including their lead negotiator. When we presented proposals about wages and other economic improvements the productive discussions ground to a halt and they turned into the SAME OLD COMCAST. The company that will throw money at everything but YOU, the technicians that service and maintain their network. The company committee truly undervalues your worth and showed that last week through its actions at the bargaining table.
We are scheduled to resume bargaining on October 26, 2026. We hope that the week off will allow the company to come back better prepared to discuss wages in a meaningful fashion. Stay tuned for potential mobilizations and job actions to illustrate your true value to the company. Contact your Branch Rep or Steward to get more details about progress at the bargaining table.
