CCI ILEC 2020 Bargaining Report 1
The CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Committee reports:
The Union Bargaining Committee met via conference call with the Company today Wednesday, August 26, 2020 to begin bargaining over a new contract. The Union committee passed an initial series of proposals designed to improve your contract and working conditions. They included improvements to job security, contract labor and others.
The company passed proposals designed to take away from your bargained for rights including vastly reduced lay-off allowances, standby policy, SIPP and vacation concessions. Your Bargaining Committee will work to stop the company from attacking your contract while pushing our proposals to improve conditions.
Talks are scheduled to resume tomorrow August 27, 2020, again by conference call. There are many more proposals to present and issues to discuss and bargain over to get to a fair contract. We are committed to fight until we have a fair new contract to present to you the Membership. Please contact your Branch Rep or Steward with any questions.
In Unity,
Your Bargaining Committee
