Atlantic Broadband 2020: Bargaining Report 1
The CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Team reported from bargaining on February 11, 2020:
The Union Bargaining Committee met with the company February 6 and 11, 2020 to begin negotiations. The company entered this round of bargaining with several proposals designed to strip your contract of differentials, add more shift work and reduce the number of Members allowed off around Christmas day. The Union introduced a series of proposals based on bargaining surveys and the Membership meeting seeking to preserve your bargained for protections and in many instances, improving them. We have introduced a series of proposals intent on strengthening existing contract language and improving economics. We are working to fend off the company proposals while making gains in the areas you have defined as important. We have tentatively agreed to improved language to inclement weather in Article 21.
Talks have been productive through the first 2 days and the bargaining team is resolved to get a fair contract for you. We will continue the fight on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Please contact your Rep with any questions about bargaining or upcoming mobilizations.
In Solidarity,
Your Union Bargaining Team
