Comcast Corliss 2019 Bargaining: Report 1
CWA Local 13000 bargaining over the Comcast Corliss contract began on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. The Bargaining Committee reports:
The Union Bargaining Committee met with the Company Team today Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in Carnegie, PA. It was a long time coming as the Union has attempted to get the company to the bargaining table since early January. The company wasted little time attacking your contract, looking for concessions a number of areas including how training is scheduled and Holiday pay differential. They also passed proposals on PTO scheduling and Post-Accident drug testing. We countered with proposals that look to achieve gains in job security and protections, limits on subcontracting and better timelines for grievance meetings.
There is still much to discuss and bargain over to secure a fair contract for the Membership. Many more of your issues will be presented to the company in the coming days. Bargaining is scheduled to resume tomorrow, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the West Regional office in Carnegie. Contact your Branch Rep or Steward to learn of Mobilizations and to get more details about progress at the bargaining table. Now is the time to ask what you can do to help!
