Comcast Corliss 2019 Bargaining: Report 3
The CWA Comcast Corliss Bargaining Team reports from May 3, 2019 negotiations:
The Union Bargaining Team met with the Company today Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Local office in Carnegie, PA. The Union team continues to fight off concessionary proposals and little progress was made over the first 3 days of bargaining. Modest progress was made on implementing joint meetings between the Union/company in an effort to overcome workplace issues. We also got the company to back off a regressive demand that would have greatly restricted the ability to receive training.
We have been at the table for 3 days and there are still many issues including economics that have yet to be discussed. The Union team is resolved to fight for a fair contract but we can’t do it without your help. The company isn’t interested in giving us anything out of the goodness of its heart and the more messages you send through mobilization the bigger the message to the company becomes. The next time we meet with the company will be May 21, 2019. As bargaining concluded today, we signed an extension agreement. This means that your current contract will continue in full force and effect during continuing negotiations. It is important that you seek out your Rep and ask what you can do to be involved!
