VCS Bargaining 2011: Report # 9
Your Bargaining Team met with VCS today to discuss more proposals. The Union Rejected the Company’s proposal on layoffs and their proposal on wage increases by performance. The Company rejected several of the Union’s proposals today that dealt with the following issues:
- Saturday and Sunday Differential
- Layoff Protection
- Increased Tuition Assistance
- Double Time and Forced Overtime
- Reduced Scheduling on Weekends
Your committee is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow July 28th at 10:00 am. The Company has been consistent in this round of negotiations in their rejection of basically everything your Union has proposed to make your life better both on and off the job. They continue to seek sacrifices from you and your family dealing with benefits even though your level of benefits will be less than you currently enjoy and that will cost you much more. We need each of you to send the Company a strong message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Yours efforts will make a difference. Please contact your Local and participate in the rally in New York City on Saturday July 30th so the Company clearly understands we will not Go Back!!
It’s all about good Union Jobs!!!
