VCS Bargaining 2011: Report # 44

Your VCS Bargaining Team met with the Company again this week and we still have not resolved any of the major issues. On March 29th the Company presented a package of proposals that they wanted us to accept in total or reject in total. In the package presented to the Union, there are proposals dealing with some minor issues and there are also proposals that deal with some very important issues as they relate to your future and the future of your family’s. The unfortunate part is that the negatives of the Company’s package far outweigh the minor advances and we will continue to try and resolve those issues. The increase in health care alone could create a very substantial negative impact on your overall income, which we must continue to fight so we can stop them from being implemented. As our overall numbers in VCS continue to dwindle we must all carry our weight in this fight and each of us must clearly let the Company know that we expect more than what they are currently offering to the individuals that helped them generate the profits they are enjoying. We must stay strong and let this corporation know that we will fight to secure our future and the future of our family’s. There is no excuse, other than CORPORATE GREED, for the proposals they expect each of you to accept. We must clearly tell them that we will not accept their RETROGRESSIVE demands. Since negotiations began in June, the Company has refused to do what is right for the people that got them to where they are today. It is obvious that without each of you they would not be enjoying the financial success they are currently enjoying. Each of you have contributed to that success and each of you should be rewarded for your hard work and not penalized like the Company is attempting to do in this round of negotiations. We must continue to MOBILIZE everyday because together we can prevail. One of our main targets must continue to be every Verizon Wireless Store throughout our areas, coordinated with your Local, as well as our other activities on the job and in our communities. In order for all of us to be successful, your assistance is essential to accomplish our goals in this round of negotiations. Thanks for your support in the past and now more than ever we need your continued support so we can all win this FIGHT!!

IMPORTANT: If any of you own Verizon stock please vote your proxy, sign and date your card and return them to your Local ASAP. Verizon’s Annual Shareholders Meeting is Thursday

May 3, 2012 at the Von Braun Center, 700 Monroe Street, Huntsville, Alabama and will begin at 10:30 AM. The Shareholder’s Meeting is a Thursday and there will be a “sea of red” formed by CWA and IBEW members who are also shareholders and they will deliver their proxies and a message to that meeting so everyone clearly understands that we will fight to secure our FUTURE.

IT’S TIME TO TAKE BACK THE MIDDLE CLASS!!

STAY STRONG – STAY UNITED!!!

It’s all about good Union Jobs!!!!

MOBILIZE – MOBILIZE – MOBILIZE
