Bargaining Report #57: Frontier Communications
The Union and the Company met today. The Company responded to Union counter proposals addressing the Independent Medical Exam process in the disability plan, Equivalent Jobs, and the Transfer and Reassignment language in Article 23. The Union restated our position rejecting, among others, proposals involving:
- Eliminating double time
- Making a four day work week mandatory
- Modifying differentials to pay less
- Eliminating $10K lump sum and eliminate EISP
- Eliminating carryover vacation
- Allowing contracting out following an ISP
- Capping pensions at 35 years, limiting lump sum calculation to the PPA rate only, excluding new hires from the plan, eliminating the 401k match
- Reducing payment of absences due to sickness and disability benefits
- Reducing vacation scheduling percentages reduced to 12%
The next scheduled meeting is February 11, 2014.
