Alcatel-Lucent 2014 Bargaining Report #12
Yesterday the company withdrew its demand to eliminate the unpaid EWD and to shorten the amount of time people can carry-over vacation days. There were also some improvements in paid time off. The Union continued to press the issue of giving our members enough time to travel during their periodic trips home. Too many are forced to reduce time with their families because of travel arrangements that cut into that time.
We continued to have discussions on their Workforce Transformation Plan and how we can provide the most protection to our members. Benefit discussions are also continuing.
We are not close to a settlement as we near expiration. We will be sending out instructions to you as we get closer to the deadline. Keep mobilizing. Keep informed.
