Bargaining Report #91: Frontier Communications
The Union and the Company met multiple times this week both on and off table.
As of today, the Union and the Company have tentatively agreed to renew 22 Letters of Understanding (LOUs) as written, eliminate five and modify 18. Seven LOUs are in various stages of negotiations. Additionally, language has been negotiated on Business Attire, Per Diem, Transfer and Relocation, Excused Paid Time, Mediation, Safety Training, GPS, and the Grievance Procedure. All tentative agreements are dependent on reaching an entire agreement.
The Union Bargaining Committee continues working on our members’ top priority of Employment Security, additional jobs and the Elimination of Contractors. We have advised the Company, that until our issues of job security are worked out, reaching any further agreements on company issues regarding our benefits, call outs and call center compensation will not happen. We continue to remind the Company that Bargaining is a process of compromise for both parties.
The Union Bargaining Committee, with the August 2, 2014 extension deadline in mind, is working to achieve a fair contract and encourages everyone to contact your Local’s Mobilizer and find out how you can help.
