Dex Media Bargaining Report #1
Bargaining for a successor agreement for Dex Media workers throughout Districts 1 and 2-13 opened in Philadelphia on Wednesday, September 9th.
The company opening statements may have been cut from past bargaining sessions. A review of the dire position of the business.
The Union, in opening statements, advised Dex Media, that our members expect to be recognized for the contributions they make towards the business. That Dex regularly advises the public and investors that they are structured to succeed. Our members have suffered through the never ending restructuring, year after year. When will Dex Media realize that their employees are not the problem?
On Thursday Dex made proposals to significantly alter the Benefit Plans, amend vacation allotments, Amend Holidays and reduce Personal days to pay for the “winter closing”.
Initial Union proposals include successorship language, A rewrite of Reduction in Force to include voluntary separation with payment, Virtual office issues and Alternative Work Proposals.
Bargaining is scheduled to resume Wednesday, September 16. Updates will be released as bargaining progresses.
