Your CWA/IBT Association Bargaining Committee met in Dallas on April 7th, April 8th, and April 9th. You’ll find details of each session below, and specifics about the status of each article in a downloadable PDF: Bargaining Status Chart April 9, 2015.
On Tuesday, April 7th, the Company passed Article 18-Sick Leave back to the Union for review. They gave us data regarding sick calls at both LUS and LAA to review. The Company acknowledged that this is one of the first Articles that has significant economic impact. The Union asked many questions about the proposal before caucusing and continuing to work on counter proposals to give the Company.
On Wednesday, April 8th the Association passed a counter proposal on Article 5, Hours of Service. We advised the Company that this Article affects our members significantly and took our time explaining our proposal to them. We ended the day continuing to work on our counter proposals for the Company and reviewing the data given to us the previous day.
On Thursday, April 9th we had many questions and data requests for the Company in relation to the information we received regarding sick leave. We met with Company and were given a counter proposal for Article 5, Hours of Service. We continued the dialogue about this article, and had multiple questions regarding their proposal. This is a very detailed article, and the committee wanted to understand the entire proposal before we began to work on it. We ended the session working on counter proposals for the Company.
Our next session is scheduled for April 21st, 22nd, and 23rd in Newport Beach, California.
