American Airlines: July 5 Bargaining Update

On Wednesday, July 1st, the Union and the Company signed a tentative agreement on Article 7, Overtime Reservations. The Union and the Company exchanged proposals on Article 6, Overtime Customer Service. The Company provided a comprehensive proposal that included Article 2, Status of Agreement; Article 3, Recognition and Scope; Article 4, Classifications; Article 5, Hours of Service; Article 9, Filling of Vacancies; Article 10, Temporary Employees; Article 18, Sick Leave; Article 19, Holidays; Article 20, Vacations; Article 24, Shift Definitions and Premiums; Article 27, Insurance; Article 28, Pension; Article 31, Part-Time Employees; Article 34, General and Miscellaneous; Article 36, Compensation; and Article 37, Duration.

On Thursday, July 2nd, the Company met with the Association to give an overview of their proposal on Medical Insurance. The Association spent the rest of the day caucusing to work on all the Articles that the Company provided.

We have 7 more bargaining sessions scheduled. The next scheduled bargaining session is July 13th-15th.

We need every Local to participate in mobilization in order to have a good contract. The time is now to show your support for a fair contract!
