Bargaining Report #27: Frontier Communications

The Union and the Company did not meet today. We are scheduled to meet on August 19, 2013.

The Union is reviewing information the Company provided concerning Call Outs. The Union and the Company have agreed to move the discussion for Call Outs to a sub‐committee.

Remembering why we wear Red!

Gerry Horgan was taken away from his family and friends 20 years ago on Aug 15, 1989. He succumbed to the injuries he sustained after being run down by a scab while walking the picket line fighting for medical benefits from a Greedy NYNEX Corporation. We wear Red in solidarity and to always remember our fallen brother. Today, many Members only know Gerry as an event that happened during the 4 month long strike for medical benefits. Gerry was much more, he was a husband, a father, a son and a dear friend who has been missed these past 20 years.

All that we have today is a culmination of dedication and hard work. Countless Members through the years have made sacrifices for the standard of living we have today. Gerry gave his life! As everyone puts on their black shirts tomorrow, the Bargaining Committee requests that everyone pause and acknowledge the sacrifices that were made for the contract we have today.

The Bargaining Committee wants to recognize Local 2006 for their mobilization activities today. Great informational picket!

All gave some… Some gave all!

BE INFORMED! BE INVOLVED! IT’S YOUR FIGHT! IT’S YOUR CONTRACT!
