Bargaining Report #48: Frontier Communications

The Union and the Company met today and had additional discussions on the Letters of Understanding. Both Bargaining Committees exchanged counter proposals.

This round of negotiations is proving to be one of the most difficult we have experienced. Progress is slow as we go through these discussions attempting to find a framework for reaching an agreement. This is a war of attrition with the Company counting on our memebers losing sight of our goal. We cannot allow this to happen. As we enter 2014, we must mobilize our members and keep the foucs on the Company. They are intent on taking out standard of living from each of us and our families. Management has moved very little from their original demands and continues to state that our contract must change because they have no other contract like it anywhere else. We cannot stress enough to the membership that the Company is looking to take away things we have fought so hard for with nothin in return.

The Union Bargaining Committee remains committed to negotiating a contract that maintains our standard of living. We don't believe our members should settle for the givebacks the Company is demanding. Frontier continues to make profits from the work that we all do.

Bargaining will recess until January 6, 2014.

The Bargaining Committee wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
