Bargaining Report #79: Frontier Communications
Progress has been made in bargaining. Negotiations on Letters of Understanding are nearing completion. The parties have agreed to extend, without modification, a number of LOUs; to eliminate those that were applicable only to Verizon; and to modify others.
Other items of focus to date have included Article 12 Section 3, the Grievance Meeting Procedure; Article 28 Section 3, Travel Allowances, Travel Time and Expense Payments; Article 23, Transfer and Reassignment; the independent medical examination requirement in the Disability Plan; and Internal vs. External Staffing Requirement.
The major issues remain unresolved: Healthcare, Movement of Work, Call Outs, Contracting, Call Center Compensation, Job Security, and Retirement Benefits.
Due to scheduling conflicts involving both committees, bargaining has recessed until the week of May 18th. Both parties have committed to work off-table during the interim.
