Bargaining Update: Comcast Corliss
Your bargaining committee, Jack Follmer, Tony Pastella, Joe Stojen, Marge Krueger and Tom Crawford met with the Company on Tuesday and Wednesday. We were introduced to the new RVP Human Resources Manager John Myers.
CWA passed the following articles Service Tech Over time, Standby, Workload, GPS reports, Grievance Procedure, Employer Vehicles. Comcast passed Service Tech Overtime, Workload, GPS reports, Employer Vehicles. We signed tentative agreements on Grievance Procedure, GPS reports, Employer Vehicles, Workload, Service Tech and Service Tech 2 Overtime.
• The Employer Vehicle agreement requires when the new contract is in effect that employees hired prior to the date of the agreement that live 30 minutes or more drive time to still have the ability to home garage but will need to report to Corliss every day. Their work day will start at Corliss. New employees as of the date of the agreement will need to drive their own vehicle to Corliss to pick up a truck they will not be eligible to home garage or home dispatch. We are the last location to make the change all non- represented locations required employee that live 30 miles or beyond to give up their truck.
• The GPS agreement requires the Company to notify the Union regarding the use of any reports generated by GPS.
• The Workload article is the same language with the addition of language to ensure that the early made to stay technician will not be given any assignments after 6pm.It will also assure that the QC standards will be applied consistently.
• The Overtime agreements will do away with the voluntary sign up list and allow Technicians to volunteer on a daily basis.
The next bargaining dates are September 14th and 15th. We still have the hard issues to deal with as well as economics. Show your Union support.
