CenturyLink PA 2020 Bargaining Report 1
The CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Committee reports:
Your Union Bargaining Committee met with the Company team today Thursday, October 15, 2020 to start bargaining. We passed an initial series of proposals designed to improve your contract and working conditions. They included improvements to scheduling procedures, shift differentials, bereavement leave, layoff allowance, call out pay, training and others.
The company passed proposals that are designed to eliminate overtime after 8 hours in a day and double time on select holidays, increase the ability to work you outside the Butler service area while opening the door for more non-Union workers to come in and do your jobs, negatively adjust wage rates during the life of the contract, schedule Sunday as a straight time day, make you use PTO for the first 5 days of on the job injuries and illnesses, adjust the number of hours you are scheduled to work on a daily basis and more. Your Bargaining Committee will work to stop the company from these efforts to gut your contract while pushing our proposals which would improve working conditions.
Bargaining has just begun and we have much work to do to get to a successful conclusion. We are committed to deliver a fair contract to the Membership. Please contact your Branch Rep or Steward for additional details and to learn of upcoming Mobilizations.
In Unity,
Your Bargaining Committee
