Climate Reality Bargaining Report # 17

On June 3, 2025 the CWA/Climate Reality Bargaining Committee reported:

The Union and the Employer met today.  The Union presented a counter on Job Postings and Promotions.  The Union is looking to have job openings posted internally before posted externally; prioritize bargaining unit employees for open positions and create a clear process for how to be promoted in Climate Reality.  There was some pushback from Climate Reality regarding the different scenarios the Union provided that should be evaluated for promotions.

Climate Reality provided a counter on Added Work/Work Out of Title and agreed to the Union’s Bereavement Leave counter.  The Union was able to increase the number of paid days off and expand the defined relationships bereavement leave can be used for.  There was a frank discussion about the cost of healthcare premiums being passed on to employees regarding the healthcare premiums.  The Union passed a proposal just for plan year 2025-2026.  Both parties will review the counters received today and prepare to respond to them during the next session.

We continue to use members’ input to inform our proposals and counters. Please plan to join us at our next union member call on Thursday, June 26 at 7:30 pm. This will be another chance to hear more detailed updates on bargaining.  Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2025.

As always, please reach out to us with any questions on the process or proposals!

Your CWA Bargaining Team,
