Comcast Alle-Kiske Bargaining Report #1
The CWA Local 13000 Comcast Alle-Kiske Bargaining Committee reports:
The Union Bargaining Committee met via conference call with the Company today Wednesday, June 17, 2020 to begin bargaining over a new contract. The Union committee passed an initial series of proposals designed to improve your contract and working conditions. They included improvements to the inclement weather article, shift bids, adding T-shirts to the company store, expanded time for your Union Reps to meet with new Unit Members and improvements to the Asset Control Clerk job description.
The company passed proposals designed to take away from your bargained for rights including extending the requirements for advanced notice to request approval for use of TTO, extending the probationary period applied to new hires and restrictive changes to existing language on training. Your Bargaining Committee will work to stop the company from attacking your contract while pushing our proposals to improve conditions.
Talks are scheduled to resume Friday June 19, 2020, again by conference call. There are many more proposals to present and issues to discuss and bargain over to get to a fair contract. Bargaining has just begun and we will have to be united through this process to get to a successful conclusion. We are committed to deliver a fair contract to the Membership. Please contact your Branch Rep or Steward with any questions, for additional details and to learn of upcoming Mobilizations.
