Comcast Alle-Kiske Bargaining Report #17

The Union Bargaining Team met with the Company on Monday, August 14 and Wednesday, August 16, 2017. After many meetings and much debate your Bargaining Team is happy to announce a Tentative Agreement was reached. This was a hard round of bargaining, nothing achieved was easy, and none of it would have been possible without the terrific efforts each of you put in through Mobilization and Job Actions to get Comcast to see that you meant business.

The new contract, upon ratification, is for a 3 year term through May 21, 2020. Improvements/changes include significant wage improvements through individual adjustments and 2% in each year over the life of the agreement, language that allows volunteering for training, improvements to On Call and Standby Duty Pay, improvements to Shift Differential, Holiday language, Discipline language that holds the Company to a higher standard, beteter Substance Abuse Policies and Procedures language, more flexibility in TTO availability. The Union Team faced a constant pressure from the Company to introduce new language for discipline based on performance. Throughout bargaining we continued to resist the Company's insistence we accept this proposal and in the end the Company backed down.

A more detailed report will be following this Bargaining Report and copies will also be made available at the explanation/ratification meeting on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Kinloch Fire Hall, 915 New York Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068. Meeting will start at 7PM and the changes will be explained and discussed and the ratification vote will follow the explanation.

Thank you for all of your efforts and participation and thanks to the many Members who came to the table during this round of bargaining. Your Bargaining Team recommends you ratify this contract.
