Comcast South Hills 2023-24 Bargaining Report 2

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, the CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Committee reported:

Your Bargaining Committee hopes that you were able to enjoy a happy and healthy holiday season. We have spent the last 2 days, January 9 and 10, 2024, meeting with the Company in several bargaining sessions. Over the last two days we have worked towards gaining improvements in job security, on the job safety, additional holidays, forced overtime control and others. Other discussions included talks on improving training standards, limit use of contract labor, and others. We’ve also been working on the company proposals, both looking for ways to improve our CBA where possible and rejecting where there is no opportunity for gains. During today’s sessions we introduced our economic proposals, this group of proposals included our wage proposal. The company offered no response to our economic proposals as we broke for the day, and it remains clear that the company has no interest in voluntarily improving your working conditions. They are definitely more interested in gutting the CBA where they can.

Bargaining is scheduled to resume in the beginning of February. We will continue to work on and improve our proposals to improve the contract and the conditions you work in. Remember to reach out to your Branch Rep or Steward to get more details about progress at the bargaining table.

Remember to come to the Membership Meeting [on Thursday, January 11, 2024] at the Elizabeth Firehall at 7:30 to hear more about what’s happening around the Unit.

In Unity,
Union Bargaining Committee
