Comcast South Hills 2023 Bargaining Report 1
Negotiations with Comcast over the South Hills contract opened and the CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Committee reported:
The Union Bargaining Committee has been meeting with the Company over the last two days, November 28 and 29, 2023 in Carnegie, PA and we have introduced a number of proposals to the Company. They include proposals to improve training standards, control mandatory overtime, limit use of contract labor, inclement weather protections, and others. The company has also passed proposals, but theirs are NOT designed to improve the quality of your work experience. It is clear that the company is intent on trying to strip whatever they can from your CBA.
We are scheduled to resume bargaining on January 9, 2023. There is much work to be done before we get back to the table and we are developing additional proposals which include economics like wages, holidays, and meal allowances. There is also much to do to make the company understand your true worth. Contact your Branch Rep or Steward to learn of upcoming Mobilizations and Membership Meetings to get more details about progress at the bargaining table.
