Comcast South Hills Bargaining Report #2

The Union Bargaining Team met with the Company again today, Wednesday, October 4, 2017. There was much discussion about the many issues still open. After another long day of meetings your Bargaining Team is happy to announce a Tentative Agreement was reached today. This was not an easy round of bargaining, much discussion was necessary to get our points across and get the Company to back off demands that would hurt the Membership and strip your contract.

The new contract, upon ratification, is for a 3 year term through November 6, 2020. Improvements/changes include significant wage improvements through individual adjustments and 2% in each year over the life of the agreement, language that allows volunteering for training, improvements to On Call and Standby Duty Pay, including Holiday language, Discipline language that holds the Company to a higher standard, better Substance Abuse Policies and Procedures language, increased flexibility in TTO availability, and new language for individual days off.

A more detailed report will follow this Bargaining Report and will be available at the explanation/ratification meeting next Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Elizabeth VFD, 107 Market Street, Elizabeth, PA 15037. The meeting will start at 7:30 PM and the ratification vote will be taken after. The changes to your contract will be explained and discussed and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Thank you for being invested in this round of bargaining. Your Bargaining Team recommends you ratify this contract.
