CWA - LifePath Bargaining Report - 09/30/2014
Your Union Bargaining team worked throughout the day and into the evening with the goal of delivering a contract that you could be proud of. During the last couple of bargaining sessions, LifePath appeared to be becoming more reasonable. A settlement appeared to be in reach as the Union attempted to address your concerns and those of LifePath.
Suddenly, and unexpectedly, LifePath's negotiators threw a wrench into the gears, bringing bargaining to a halt.
Earlier in the day, the Union provided a wage counter proposal. That has yet to be responded to.
We attempted to move the process forward with a number of "off table" discussions without success.
We were prepared to remain for as long as it would take to reach settlement. At approximately 8:15, LifePath requested to suspend bargaining for the day.
We have scheduled another bargaining meeting for Monday, October 6.
The terms of the current agreement remain in full effect.
Let management know, you demand a fair contract that works for both LifePath and workers.
