District 2-13 Bargaining News: April 2025

AVAYA

In December 2023, Avaya unilaterally imposed a contract on the CWA-represented bargaining unit. Negotiations led by the CWA Telecommunications & Technologies (T&T) office resumed in the first quarter of this year. In mid-March, CWA reached a tentative agreement with Avaya, and the details were shared with members to review before the ratification vote.

COMCAST (Corliss)

The CWA Local 13000 Bargaining Committee reviewed members’ bargaining surveys this month to finalize the bargaining agenda. Wages, job security, and workplace safety will be the chief topics in negotiations. The first round of negotiations will begin at the end of this month. Stay in touch with Local representatives for the latest news from the bargaining table.

The Comcast Corliss contract will expire on May 20, 2025.

 

FRONTIER PA 

Negotiations between Frontier and CWA Local 13571 continued this month in Pennsylvania. The parties agreed to extend the contract’s expiration date to May 3, 2025. Reach out to Local 13571 for the latest updates.

 

Piedmont

The Piedmont Bargaining Committee met with the airline reps on April 16 and 21. The Union continued to fight for fair wages, improved working conditions, and enhanced benefits. Members overwhelmingly authorized a strike in the recent vote, which sends a strong message to management.

VERIZON

The current contract with Verizon is scheduled to expire on August 1, 2026. In a joint statement, Verizon, CWA, and IBEW announced there will be early talks to discuss an extension of the agreement. Those talks will open on May 21, 2025. Read the full statement.

 

WELLS FARGO

As CWA’s efforts to organize and bargain a nation-wide contract for Wells Fargo employees continues, the Committee for Better Banks reported that the company is “backsliding into the same harmful practices that led to its infamous fake account scandal in 2016.” Check out the Committee's report and more.

 

ZeniMax

In a Press Release, CWA called out Microsoft for failing to move forward in negotiations over the first contract at ZeniMax Media, a subsidiary of game video game workers. 

Meanwhile, ZeniMax workers authorized a strike and picketed in Maryland and Texas to highlight Microsoft’s failure to bargain for a fair contract.
