Frontier VA-WV Bargaining 2023 Bargaining Report #9

The CWA Bargaining Committee reports:

The CWA Bargaining Team met with Frontier this week.

The Union started this week hopeful that movement on the issues presented prior to the two-week extension would be addressed.

Progress has been made on the Company’s Work-at-Home proposal. Movement was made on Active Benefits.

However, strikingly different wage proposals have been exchanged. The Company appears unwilling to recognize and address the inflation that everyone has been impacted by in the last several years.

Providing a secure retirement is a core component of the foundation of labor. The Union has proposed to improve retiree benefits. The Company has proposed to diminish retiree benefits. The Company justifies its proposal as necessary to eliminate future liabilities. The Union justifies its proposal as recognition of the contribution our members make throughout their careers to the Company’s long term success.

We end this week frustrated with the lack of real progress.

Every member must help with bargaining by staying in touch with Local Mobilizers and participating in the activities planned. Your mobilization activities are having an impact. We must stay prepared to do whatever it takes to get the contract that we all deserve.
