Frontier WV/VA 2017 Bargaining: Report 13
For the week of August 14- August 18, 2017
The Union Bargaining Committee met individually with the Healthcare Consultant. The Consultant, a former union leader, has a background with healthcare plans and we discussed some areas that could result in cost savings for our healthcare plan. The Union Bargaining Committee and members of the Company Committee met together with the Healthcare Consultant facilitating the meeting.
Also in this process Segal Consulting an actuarial firm that specializes in benefit plans is providing services to help identify cost savings. Segal Consulting is an actuarial consultant that is tasked with taking all the data and modeling and forecasting cost savings. Segal’s report is scheduled to be discussed the week of September 18.
During these negotiations, the Union Bargaining Committee’s focus is the issues that were provided from the bargaining surveys - Job Security, Healthcare and Contracting. The Union Committee’s goal is to maintain our standard of living. Members should stay in touch with their Local for mobilization activities.
