Frontier WV/VA 2017 Bargaining: Report 26

For the week of February 19 – February 23, 2018

Bargaining resumed this week. No progress has been made. As of this report, Frontier has yet to provide a healthcare proposal or respond to the Union’s healthcare proposal. All issues explained in last Friday’s comprehensive bargaining report remain on the table for both sides.

The Union Bargaining Committee remains available and ready to meet to work through the issues in order to achieve a contract that addresses our members’ needs: employment security; quality, affordable healthcare; and the reduction of contractors and securing bargaining unit work.

The contract expires on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. With a little over one week to go, preparation and mobilization must continue and must be ratcheted up. Great energy and commitment have been shown at Membership Meetings throughout the bargaining unit. The pictures from this week’s picketing in support of teachers and public workers; red Thursday; informational picketing; and black-out Friday are inspiring. Keep building on that intensity!

Bargaining is scheduled next week.
