Summary of 02.24.26 Events for Mobilizing Committee
Today was our fifth bargaining session with RB. On the Union side, we had Nicolette, Aeri, Laura (from GA), Tammy, Kisha, Brandon Simmons, and Lisa (from CWA). Present on the Employer side was Anji Cornette, Justin Keith, and Shana Jackson (from RB).
We began the day in caucus to review the counter-proposal we planned to pass that day:
5.2 GRIEVANCE AND ARBITRATION
We presented our counter for 5.2 GRIEVANCE AND ARBITRATION as well as a new proposal which is as follows:
20.0 PROBATIONARY PERIOD
This proposal defines the time in which a new employee is in probation before being brought on as an employee, as well as defines the rights of said probationary employee in regards to the union.
We presented those proposals & counter-proposals and Lisa answered any questions from the Employer team.
Following our presentation, Justin had no counters at the time, and suggested we move into caucus.
Our goal for our second caucus was to prep proposals for a future date as well as a counter proposal to be presented in our afternoon session which was as follows:
22.1 SAFETY AND HEALTH
We returned to the table, where the employer offered up 2 more counter proposals, which are as follows:
5.2 GRIEVANCE AND ARBITRATION
20.0 PROBATIONARY PERIOD
We followed these counters with the presentation of 22.1 SAFETY AND HEALTH
We ended our discussions at the table with confirmation of tomorrow’s session and returned to caucus.
We spent the remainder of our time in caucus discussing future proposals we wish to present at the table.
