IBT-CWA Passenger Service Association Bargaining report for March 2012
Your IBT/CWA Association Negotiating Committee met this month in Tempe, during the period of March 27th- 29th. On Tuesday, March 27th, we met with the Company and verified that we had six proposals passed to them from the Committee. The Company verified Articles 1-Purpose of Agreement, 8 -Seniority, 10-Temporary Employees, 11-Seasonal Employees, 21-Limited Duty and 30-Safety and Health, were passed to them by the Committee. They presented Article 23-Uniforms, incorporating the Letter of Agreement dated August 27, 2007 and Article 27-Insurance, incorporating Attachment F of the CBA. The Company gave us counter proposals of Articles 10 and 31. The Committee gave the Company a proposal on Article 26. The Company gave the Committee counter proposals on Articles 8 and 11.
On Wednesday, March 28th, the Company gave the Committee counter proposals on Articles 1 and 26. The committee discussed counters on the outstanding proposals. We discussed future negotiation dates. The Union ended the day by giving the Company a counter proposal on Article 8.
On Thursday, March 29th, we met with the Company and clarified some questions on their proposal of Article 1. The Committee gave the Company a counter proposal of Article 1. We ended the session by setting meeting dates for the Weeks of August 6th and September 17th. The next scheduled bargaining session is in Tempe, Arizona on May 1, 2 and 3.
