LifePath 2017 Bargaining: Report 3

The parties met and exchanged responses proposals on Thursday, August 3, made in prior sessions and engaged in further discussion on why the proposals were either necessary or unacceptable.

The Bargaining team also addressed additional issues on your agenda, including treatment of workers during inclement weather and a revision on our Holiday proposal. LifePath has shown some interest in a slight improvement on the 401K plan. The Bargaining Team also requested any information on reported employee injuries at our Drexel Hill Day Program.

After concluding the day’s session, the Local 13500 Executive Board traveled to Pittsburgh, PA to attend the CWA National Convention. On Monday August 7, the Executive Board had the honor of escorting Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Wolf to the podium to address the Convention Delegates. Governor Wolf, with the urging of both CWA District Vice President Ed Mooney and Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources (PAR) had included funding for wages of DSP’s throughout PA in his budget plan to the Legislature. This is the first such request in ten (10) years and was approved at the Governor’s full funding level proposal.
