MissionWired First Contract Bargaining: Report #15

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the MissionWired Bargaining Committee reported:

Dear fellow members,

Your CWA bargaining committee met today with MissionWired. We had a discussion about the process that MissionWired goes through to select benefits plans on the healthcare exchange. We also reviewed MissionWired’s latest announcement about the intention to cover travel for adoption and surrogacy along with the update to CareFirst plans for next year to begin covering fertility treatments (due to a new DC law). 

We also presented a proposal on a Healthcare Committee, where we are asking for bargaining unit members to be present and involved in future discussions of healthcare and changing plans. 

As we head toward more bargaining sessions surrounding healthcare and salary, we are continuing to seek input from members! Please let the bargaining committee know if there’s anything you want to share, and we will also have our next all-members meeting soon (keep an eye out for a calendar invite!)

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd.
