MissionWired First Contract Bargaining: Report #4
The CWA Local 2336 Bargaining Committee reported:
Dear fellow members,
Your CWA bargaining committee met twice with MissionWired over the last two weeks. During these bargaining sessions the Union continued to raise points surrounding the layoff and recall proposal CWA submitted. We signaled to the Company this proposal and a proposal regarding Job Postings/Promotions/Transfers are important to the membership.CWA presented counter proposals on Union Activity and a Labor/Management Committee. MissionWired will review our counters and determine whether or not to counter them or accept the changes we made in our counter. This process continues until both parties agree on a final draft.
When presenting our Job Postings/Promotions/Transfer proposal, the Union continually stressed the lack of guidelines and transparency on these topics which propelled this topic to be one of the top 5 important issues we heard from you. We appreciate all of the members that have shared their perspectives and personal experiences with these processes.
The Union questioned MissionWired about the commitments made in the joint statement the Union and MissionWired agreed to earlier this year, specifically questioning them about sharing financial data and hiring/retention information. MissionWired stated that they plan to present the first quarterly update in early May for the period of January - March.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd. At this time, we have four total meetings scheduled with MissionWired in the month of May and have dates in June and July waiting to be confirmed.Bargaining is a whole team effort and it could not be done without the support of our members. Please wear red the day of our next scheduled bargaining session, May 2nd, to show support for and solidarity with the CWA Bargaining Committee.
Your bargaining committee,
Lisa Fazzini-CWA Staff Representative-Bargaining Chair Parker Blair
Grace Duginski-CWA Local 2336 Steward Noam Efron
