Press Release: CWA Commends Senate for Passage of Trade Adjustment Assistance
Washington, D.C. – The Communications Workers of America commends the U.S. Senate for passing Trade Adjustment Assistance for workers who lose their jobs due to trade practices. It’s especially important that this Senate vote recognized that service workers, who in the past were not eligible for TAA benefits, also need the training and support services that TAA provides.
We call on the House of Representatives to take similar action to support U.S. workers.
The overall goal of our nation should continue to be creating and maintaining quality jobs in our communities. CWA will continue to advocate for the Obama administration’s jobs plan and other measures to provide good jobs for working Americans.
