SuperMedia Bargaining 2012: Report Dated March 15, 2012
Bargaining resumed on Wednesday, March 14th in Philadelphia. SuperMedia presented a comprehensive proposal for settlement. Unfortunately, SuperMedia continues to pursue its aggressive agenda of diminishment of our benefits to match that of the non-represented employees and proposed a paltry one time 2% wage increase over the term of the contract.
Although some agreement was reached on some housekeeping and contract language issues, the Union bargaining team responded Thursday with a point-by-point rejection of the majority of the Company’s proposal. The Union agenda was reiterated, including base wage increases, improvement in Total Targeted Comp and the Bonus Plan. We asked the Company to reflect seriously on our modest proposals and its retrogressive demands.
As both parties recognize that we remain far apart from any potential settlement, we have agreed to extend the contracts through March 30, 2012.
In the meantime, let your management know that you want a fair contract and that YOU do have a VOICE in the matter through your bargaining committee and ultimately your VOTE.
