VCS Bargaining 2011: Report # 47

Your VCS Bargaining Team met with the company again this week and we still have not resolved any of the major issues. The main issue that was discussed this week dealt with Healthcare and we are currently waiting for the company to respond to the questions that were asked by your committee concerning the company’s last proposal dealing with this issue. We will continue to try and find a way to resolve our negotiations with the company in a satisfactory fashion but we need each of you to stay involved because without each of you this task will be even more difficult than it already is at this time. We need each of you to tell the company on a daily basis that we will not allow them to destroy your benefits and to destroy the middle class jobs that CWA and IBEW have fought so hard to create since the inception of VCSI in 1995. We need your help so we can prevail in this crucial battle. We are clearly under attack by this company and it is quite apparent that they expect you and your family to make sacrifices that are totally unrealistic considering the profitability of this company. What this company is attempting to do in this round of negotiations can be found under the definition of CORPORATE GREED. All of us must clearly tell this company that we will not accept their RETROGRESSIVE proposals and that we will last one more day than they will in this battle. The future is on the line so if you haven’t started begin to mobilize today and contact your Local office to find out what you can do. We must stay strong and let this company know that we will fight to secure our future and the future of our family’s. Each of must continue to MOBILIZE everyday because together we can prevail. One of our main targets must continue to be Verizon Wireless stores throughout our areas, coordinated with your Local, as well as our other activities on the job and in our communities. In order for all of us to be successful, your assistance is essential to accomplish our goals in this round of negotiations.
