VCS Bargaining 2011: Report # 49

Your VCS Bargaining Team met with the company this week and again there was no progress on the major issues that remain on the table. We gave the company a counter dealing with their last proposal on Healthcare and we are currently waiting for their response. We are scheduled to meet with the company again on Monday June 25th and hopefully we will begin to make some REAL progress. Up to this point it is clear that the company has made no attempt to reach a FAIR and EQUITABLE agreement. We have been trying to resolve our differences with this GREEDY company for one year and still on our one year anniversary we are no closer to resolving our differences pertaining to all the major issues, Healthcare, Pensions, 401K and Wages. The company has made no attempt over the last twelve months to place one proposal on the table that would recognize the sacrifices that you and your family have made for this company since your employment. All they are interested in doing is padding the pockets of the corporate executives at your expense. If you are not involved with this fight, it is time for you to get involved because all of us must send this company a message dealing with our resolve to last one day longer than they do in this fight. Your Committee will continue to try and find ways that we can reach a FAIR and EQUITABLE agreement but to date the company continues to block every attempt on our part to resolve our differences in an EQUITABLE manner. We need your continued support so we can move these people off their ridiculous proposals that are currently on the table. Each of you need to understand that this company is determined to alter your way of life and that of your family and we can assure you that the change they are seeking is NEGATIVE. We appreciate your support to date but we need to turn up the heat a few notches so the company clearly understands that we are serious and we are not going anywhere until this fight is over with a FAIR and EQUITABLE agreement reached at the table. The future is on the line so turn up the heat and contact your Local office to find out what you can do. One of our main targets must continue to be Verizon Wireless stores throughout our areas, coordinated with your Local, as well as our other activities on the job and in our communities. In order for all of us to be successful, your assistance is essential to accomplish our goals in this round of negotiations.
