Verizon Bargaining 2011: Report # 26

Bargaining Chairs for the Union and Company met today. The Company continues to do the corporate two-step and we have no real progress to report from our discussions.

It is obvious to your bargaining team that the company is still not ready to bargain with us in good faith. From the very beginning of these negotiations the union has advised the company we are ready and willing to meet at anytime. Instead, they have chosen to bargain in the media rather than with the union bargaining committee. We continue to stand ready to meet whenever the company is willing to meet and bargain fairly and in good faith.

Our picket lines from Maine to Virginia remain strong with members, their families and community supporters being vocal against the attack on ourwages, benefits and standard of living. Keep up the amazing work you are doing. Your efforts will make the difference in fighting back the Company’s retrogressive demands for unprecedented givebacks. You are definitely having an impact on the company. We are also receiving support from our brothers and sisters across the country as they show up at vendor locations where struck call center work has been sent.

We will not allow VERIZON
to destroy the Middle Class
