Verizon Bargaining 2011: Report # 27

There is no progress to report from the bargaining table today. The Unions’ committee continues to stand ready to meet with the company to bargain a fair contract for our members.

Keep up the amazing work you are doing. Your efforts will make the difference in fighting back the Company’s retrogressive demands for unprecedented givebacks. The Picket lines and mobilized picketing have never been better. We continue to receive support from our brothers and sisters from across the country within CWA and IBEW. We are also hearing from other labor organizations in support of our efforts in the fight to save the middle class.

Moment of Silence – Tomorrow (Monday, Aug. 15) at Noon

Tomorrow is the 22nd anniversary of Gerry Horgan's death. Local 1103 is having a wreath laying ceremony which they do each year at the location where Gerry was run down. We would like a moment of silence at Noon tomorrow at every Picket Location. Every Local should remind their members of the Day that Gerry died while picketing during the “Strike of 1989” and honor his death with a moment of silence. CWA will never forget Gerry Horgan and his sacrifice.
