Verizon Bargaining 2011: Report # 39

The Regional Bargaining Committee met again today and continued work on several proposals regarding reducing the contracting out of bargaining unit work and absence. The committee anticipates receiving additional information from the company on both of these issues. Our research economists and consultants continue to run the numbers on the cost of the health care proposal. This information is critical to ensuring we obtain the most accurate assessment on this highly debated bargaining item. Your Regional Committee is scheduled to meet again tomorrow and we will report out additional progress as it becomes available.

Remember, it is the company that is attempting to destroy our middle class jobs in this round of bargaining. Your union bargaining committee is committed to preventing that from happening. With our members support, we won’t go back.
