Verizon Local 13000 Bargaining Report # 12

Your bargaining team met with the company today and it is clear the company has no true intention to bargain for a fair contract. There is still much information that the company must provide us so that we can fully address your concerns. The company did reject 8 more union proposals most of which had no economic impact on the company. The company has stated throughout the entire bargaining process that they need flexibility in every aspect.

Personal Records, administrative groups, scheduling, motor vehicle usage program, limits on forced OT after a surplus has been declared, limits on contractors after an EISP, management returning to the bargaining unit, and work time schedules were all rejected today. We advised the company all these demands and all of our previous demands are still outstanding and open for further discussion on the table. The company maintains that their three goals are still, no increased cost, total flexibility, and less administrative oversight in all aspects of the job.

FOUR days until the expiration of our contract and the company has yet to come to the table with any rational proposals, simply all give backs. We have fought and suffered for too long to give away our contract and we will continue to fight to defend the gains that we have made throughout the years.

Workplace activities must increase and we must make our demands visible to management every day. We must wear Red this Thursday and Black this Friday to signify the expiration of our contract. It is imperative that every member gets involved because this is our future. We can remain successful if we all stay united. Verizon has been very profitable through your hard work and its time that they show their appreciation. Be prepared this weekend as our contract expires at midnight Saturday. We will take whatever measures that we have to secure a fair contract.

NO CONTRACT NO PEACE!
