CWA-PIW Bargaining Report 13

The Union and PIW met this month on Friday July 7, 2017. The two sides reached another tentative agreement on “Job Classifications”.  To date, we have now reached agreements on a total of 7 contract language proposals. We also had an extensive conversation with the Company concerning SAFETY in the hospital.  We made several requests for information regarding Lavender codes called, OSHA log reports and incident reports for workplace violence from patients over the last year and a half.

These requests for information have been ongoing regarding safety or lack thereof at PIW.  Please be diligent in your daily functions of making sure that you follow what basic training you get on patient handling but remember risking your life for your job is not worth it.  CWA is not going to allow our members safety to be put at risk because of lack of staffing, training or inadequate safety practices.

We ask that you continue with your mobilization efforts-rely on one another for support and continue to stick together. We will see this through.

We need you to “Stand Up & Fight Back”
