Negotiations Continue at AT&T Mobility, Contract Covering 22,000 CWA Workers Extended

Contact: Kevin Mulligan, CWA District 7, 303-947-7112

Denver – The contract covering 22,000 workers represented by the Communications Workers of America at AT&T Mobility expired Saturday evening, Feb. 9, but negotiations are continuing and the contract has been extended. The negotiations cover workers in 36 states and the District of Columbia.

Secure jobs and an end to contracting out of work are critical issues for AT&T Mobility workers. Other issues include fair wages and benefits and improvements in working conditions.

CWA members at AT&T Mobility work as customer service representatives, technicians and in retail stores. They have made AT&T Mobility successful and provide quality customer service that doesn’t happen when work is contracted out. Workers have been mobilizing for a fair contract since talks got underway on January 22.
