Bargaining Report #43: Frontier Communications
The Union and the Company met today.
The Bargaining Teams exchanged counter proposals on several issues including Closed Time, Home Relocation, Per Diem and Excused Time. The Union proposed updating Article 12 Section 3 addressing which level of management answers the grievance.
The Union also responded to a number of the Company proposals. The Union rejected proposals that would eliminate double time and Sunday premiums, create a mandatory call-outs process, establish a mandatory four day work week, eliminate differentials, reduce and eliminate ISP/EISP, change holidays, eliminate carry-over vacation, extend the time for temporary assignment to management, expand the distance for forced home relocation, make take the lead mandatory, allow contractors to transfer fiber, remove the limitation to contract out after an ISP/EISP, and make everyone 40 hours.
The Company’s agenda here is to reduce our standard of living. The Company maintains that these cuts are small and necessary for consistency. The short of the Company’s proposals is that it is decreasing our pay, our healthcare, our pensions, and our benefits. With the Company’s Proposals they are asking every member and the Union to die a death of a thousand cuts.
Every Member needs to continue with their mobilization activities.
