District 2-13 Bargaining News: May 2024
American Red Cross (ARC) – National Addendum
The Coalition of American Red Cross Unions held several bargaining sessions with the Red Cross in May. Currently, the Unions have submitted proposals to deter “late ends,” establish safe staffing schedules, increase uniform allowance, issue company cell phones, and address fleet maintenance.

The National Addendum will expire on December 31, 2024.
Brightspeed – Virginia
CWA Local 2204 members mobilized to support their Bargaining Team as negotiations opened this month.
CWA Local 2204 members participated in national mobilization training, which is helping them mobilize their members and coordinate with other locals in the fight.

The contract with Brightspeed Virginia (formerly Lumen and CenturyLink) will expire on June 1, 2024.
Community College of Baltimore County
CWA Local 2100 reached a Memorandum of Understanding with the Community College this month. In accordance with the current contract, the Union opened negotiations over wages earlier this year. Read the full agreement:
LifePath
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed by LifePath and CWA Local 13500 this month. The agreement issued a one-time pay adjustment to bargaining unit employees, as well as increased job rates. Check out the full agreement below:
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA)
After nearly a year of discussions, the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CWA Local 2252 and MWAA has been signed by all parties and is now in effect. The new contract is in effect through April 4, 2027. Congratulations to the Bargaining Committee and members!
Optimum (formerly Altice)
Negotiations with Optimum West Virginia resumed on May 30th. The committee focused on the issues members identified at the onset of bargaining, which include preservation and improvement of living standards for members and their families, as well as job security. Read the full report here.
Local 2002 and 2007 members in the Optimum bargaining unit mobilized for a fair contract. Members demonstrated their solidarity as the Bargaining Committee continues to fight for the contract they deserve!

The contract with Optimum in WV will expire on June 28, 2024.

Precision Strategies
The CWA Local 2336 Bargaining Committee issued their first report from negotiations with Precision Strategies. Read the full report here:
In June 2023, employees at Precision Strategies, who are based out of Washington DC, signed cards to establish the union. CWA Local 2336 is negotiating the new bargaining unit’s first contract.
